Eco-Friendly Cat Litter

A lot of people seem to be applying the eco-chic movement to their pets as well, and I have to admit I’ve jumped on board with biodegradable bags for my dogs and buying their food in bulk to eliminate wasteful packaging. I’ve even tried eco-friendly cleaning products for when my boys have an accident in the house. But other than the cleaning products, how do you go green with cats? My coworker and friend was telling me the other day about a greener cat litter that has hit the market.

Apparently about 8 billion pounds of kitty litter are dumped into landfills every year, so if there’s a way to use a more eco-friendly product, you could really make a difference. Well, apparently there are numerous types of cat litter made from all types of organic products, including everything from wheat to walnut shells and everything in between.
